Treating Myself.

I’ve been making so many things for other people lately I thought it was high time I made something for myself! As it’s my nieces christening coming up very soon I decided to make a headband to go with the dress I will be wearing. Heres how it turned out:

I think its rather pretty.

Just a quick note: As you can see from this picture my roots are in desperate need of doing. I have been holding back from doing it due to the fact that the medication I am taking is drying out my scalp and it stings to even shampoo it! So I can’t imagine slathering it in amonia would make it any better. If anyone whos had a similar problem and has managed to solve it is out there, then please let me know! Thank you.

My First Sale!

I’m very excited to say that I have actually sold one of my crocheted items! My friend saw the crochet bag that I made and lined and just loved it, so she asked me to make her one a little bigger. She is paying me £7 which is a big deal for me! She picked out the colours, button and lining, I just worked my magic putting it all together!

I’m very pleased with the way its turned out and I feel now the path is open and hopefully word of mouth with spread. Also my sister-in-law has ordered another hair band for my niece to wear to her christening although I won’t be charging them.

Making It Up To A Freind!

I felt bad as last week I had to let my friend down as I was feeling too rough from the fibro to leave the house. Sometimes I think I need a wheelchair and I’d be able to get about more! Anyway to make it up to her I made her a headband to say sorry as she said she liked the one I made for my niece. She asked for pink and white so I hope I delivered!

Catching Up With My Wool Work!

So I realise I haven’t posted any pics of my crocheting or crafts for a while due to my camera being out of battery and not being able to find to charger! But ha-ha! I found it and now I can put some pics up. This is a little coin purse I crocheted and then combined it with the skills I learned while making my bags and lines it! I was quite pleased with the way it turned out. It’s quite small, so I use it to put my change in.

Also it was my first attempt at adding a fuctioning button to one of my projects.

The Crazy Bag Lady!

I’m turning into a crazy bag lady, I have made so many practices of the same back now! I really need to make the final one but I don’t want to waste my expensive fabric by going wrong! Here is probably the fifth time I’ve practiced it from various angles, made from an old (rather pretty) pillowcase!

I’m quite pleased with this one, I’m going to give it too my mum! I’m going to make one more practice and then I will definatly make the final one!

Getting It Right!

I love crocheting for kids, its the avenue I hope to go down when I start to sell my creations. One of my favourite babies to crochet for (aside my son!) is my wonderful little niece who’s nearly 4 months old!

The only thing I’m bad at – sizes! I made her a head band that was too small and I made two sizes of mitts that were also too small! She’s growing up too fast for me to keep up bless her.

I made her a new headband now that just about stretches to fit me so if its too small for her then there is something wrong!

Here is a picture of it on me (my roots need doing!) I think it is cute though I hope it looks ok as I kind of made the flower up as I went along!

I will drop it off tomorrow and fingers crossed, I got it right this time!
